Tutorial "Happy Spring"

This tutorial was written by me on 5th May 2010. It was done with PSP9 but it might work with other versions, too. This tutorial is copyrighted to me, any resemblance is purely coincidental and not intentional!

You need: "Spring is In" Scrapkit by DeliciousScraps which you can purchase here, an adorable tube, I used the artwork of Kat NKDA which you can purchase at ArtisticMindsInc, and mask GinasGems_Mask2.jpg by Gina

1. Open mask in PSP, open a new transparent canvas 700x550px, flood fill with white, add new rasterlayer, select all, open DeliciousScraps_SpringIsIn_Paper_16.jpg, resize 700x700px, copy and paste into selection, select none, layers - new masklayer - from image, load GinasGems_Mask2.jpg, source luminance checked, merge group, duplicate layer, merge down

2. Open DeliciousScraps_SpringIsIn_Frame 2-3.png, resize 550px, copy and paste as new layer, add Dropshadow 2/2/20/2 #000000, with magic wand tool click into the four frames, selection, modify, expand 7px, open DeliciousScraps_SpringIsIn_Paper_6.jpg, resize 600x600px, copy and paste as new layer, selection invert, press delete, select none, arrange beneath frame

3. Highlight frame again, with magic wand tool click into the two frames left, selection, modify, expand 7px, open your tube - this is if you work with the same tube than I - resize 50%, copy and paste as new layer, fit into selection as you wish, selection invert, press delete, select none, arrange beneath frame, duplicate layer, Effects - Offset 264/0, merge down, set the opacity to 30

4. Highlight group layer, open DeliciousScraps_SpringIsIn_Scattered Flowers 4.png, resize 600px, copy and paste as new layer, move a little down (Position x 48/Position y 272), duplicate layer, image mirror, image flip, merge down, add Dropshadow 1/1/20/1 #000000

5. Highlight top layer, open DeliciousScraps_SpringIsIn_Frame 3-3.png, resize 275px, copy and paste as new layer, move it to the left (Position x 75/Position y 140), add Dropshadow 2/2/20/2 #000000, open DeliciousScraps_SpringIsIn_Frame 3.png, resize 275px, copy and paste as new layer, place it above the orange frame, image mirror, add Dropshadow, merge both frame, with rectangular selection draw a selection as you can see on my previewPromote to layer, on original circle frame layer press delete, select none, arrange the promoted layer above group layer

6. Highlight top layer, open DeliciousScraps_SpringIsIn_Wired FLowers.png, resize 125px (Width), rotate 90 degrees left, copy and paste as new layer, move down, add Dropshadow 1/1/20/1 #000000

7. Open DeliciousScraps_SpringIsIn_Flower 5.png, resize 100px, copy and paste as new layer, move it onto the lower left corner of the frame, add Dropshadow, open DeliciousScraps_SpringIsIn_Flower 4.png, resize 100px, copy and paste as new layer, move it to the right, add Dropshadow, open DeliciousScraps_SpringIsIn_Flower 6.png, resize 110px, copy and paste as new layer, move it up to the left and place it between the 1st and the 2nd frame, add Dropshadow

8. Open DeliciousScraps_SpringIsIn_Flower 2.png, resize 100px, copy and paste as new layer, move it up to the right and place it between the 3rd and the 4th frame, add Dropshadow, open DeliciousScraps_SpringIsIn_Bow.png, resize 150px, copy and paste as new layer and place it on the diamond of the white flower, add Dropshadow, open DeliciousScraps_SpringIsIn_Label_Happy.png or any other label, resize 175px, copy and paste as new layer, free rotate 15 degrees left, adjust - sharpen, move it up to the white flower and fix it with the blue bow, arrange Label layer between flower and bow layer, add Dropshadow

9. Highlight frame layer, open DeliciousScraps_SpringIsIn_Ribbon Curled 2.png and DeliciousScraps_SpringIsIn_Ribbon Curled.png, resize both 200px, copy and paste as new layers, free rotate both 90 degrees left, the orange one image mirror, move it to the left and place it under the red flower, add Dropshadow, move the blue ribbon to the right under the white flower, adjust - Brightness/Contrast -65/0, add Dropshadow

10. Highlight top layer, open DeliciousScraps_SpringIsIn_Heart 2.png, resize 75px, copy and paste as new layer, move it down to the right, add Dropshadow, open DeliciousScraps_SpringIsIn_Leaves 2.png, resize 200px, copy and paste as new layer, free rotate 90 degrees left, image mirror, move it to the left, add Dropshadow, arrange Leaves layer under the blue flower layer

11. Open your original tube again, resize 400px (Height), copy and paste as new layer, place as you wish, add Dropshadow 1/1/20/1 #000000, open cat tube (also by Kat NKDA), resize 250px (Height), copy and paste as new layer, place it next to the girl, add Dropshadow

Now write down your name and/or text! Add copyright information and save your tag as .png or .jpg! Please enjoy!
