Tutorial "Candy Cane Lover"

This tutorial was written by me on 20th December 2010. It was done with PSP9 but it might work with other versions, too. This tutorial is copyrighted to me, any resemblance is purely coincidental and not intentional!

You need: "Candy Cane Lover" Tagger Kit by Kirsty's Scraps which you can purchase at Sophisti-Scraps and a lovely tube and close-up, I used the beautiful artwork of Celine Bonnet (the tube I used was in the MPT Christmas Gift 2010) but usually you can purchase Celine's gorgeous artwork MPT and font AceBinghamSH

1. Open KISM-CandyCaneLover-Frame2.png, with Shift D make a copy, close the original, selection, custom selection - Left 315/Top 0/Right 576/Bottom 275, selection invert, press delete, select none, take your crop tool, layer opaque, double click, image, canvas size - Width 522/Height 550, Placement Up Right, duplicate layer, image mirror, merge down, duplicate layer, image flip, merge down, image, canvas size - Width 650/Height 650, Placement Center, resize frame 90% (resize all layers not checked)

2. Selection, Custom Selection Left 105/Top 90/Right 545/Bottom 560, open KISM-CandyCaneLover-Paper7.jpg, copy and paste as new layer, selection invert, press delete, select none, arrange layer, send to bottom, highlight frame, add Dropshadow 0/0/40/3 #000000

3. Open KISM-CandyCaneLover-SnowFlake2.png, resize 35%, copy and paste as new layer, move it up to the left corner of the frame, duplicate layer, image mirror, merge down, duplicate layer, image flip, merge down, add Dropshadow, arrange layer, send to bottom, highlight top layer, open KISM-CandyCaneLover-SequinScatter.png, resize 50%, copy and paste as new layer, image mirror, move it up to the left, duplicate layer, image mirror, image flip, merge down, add Dropshadow, arrange layer about the snowflakes layer

4. Highlight top layer, open KISM-CandyCaneLover-FlowerSpray.png, copy and paste as new layer, move it to the left and a little up (Position x 15/Position y 0), duplicate layer, image mirror, image flip, arrange the duplicated one above the scatter layer

5. Highlight top layer again, open KISM-CandyCaneLover-GlassDroplet.png, resize 40%, copy and paste as new layer, move it up to the left, duplicate layer, image mirror, merge down, add Dropshadow, open KISM-CandyCaneLover-Poinsetta.png, resize 50%, copy and paste as new layer, move it up to the left corner of the frame, add Dropshadow

6. Open KISM-CandyCaneLover-RibbonFlower.png, resize 50%, copy and paste as new layer, move it up to the right corner of the frame, add Dropshadow, open KISM-CandyCaneLover-StringBow.png, resize 50%, copy and paste as new layer, move it up to the right, place it on the flower, add Dropshadow

7. Open KISM-CandyCaneLover-Holly.png, resize 35%, copy and paste as new layer, move it down to the right corner of the frame, add Dropshadow

8. Highlight the paper layer under the frame, select all, selection float, selection defloat, open your close-up, copy and paste as new layer, place her as you wish, selection invert, press delete, select none, set the opacity of the close-up to 50, open KISM-CandyCaneLover-SnowFall.png, resize 75%, copy and paste as new layer, move it to the right, this layer is above the close-up and beneath the frame layer

9. Highlight top layer, open your tube, if it is the same than mine, image mirror, copy and paste as new layer, move it to the left or place it as you like, add Dropshadow of your choice, now open KISM-CandyCaneLover-Paper2.jpg, set it to background pattern (Angle 0/Scale 25), foreground #93040c, Line Style Solid, Stroke Width 0,5, write down your name and/or text

Tutorial "...all I need tonight"

This tutorial was written by me on 13th November 2009. It was done with PSP9 but it might work with other versions, too. This tutorial is copyrighted to me, any resemblance is purely coincidental and not intentional!

You need: PTU tagger size kit "Sweet Sixteen" by Kirsty's Scraps which you can purchase here, a nice tube, I am using the artwork of Ismael Rac which you can purchase on ArtisticMindsInc, template #114 by Kristin, mask gemsmasks-116.jpg by Gems and Plugin DSB Flux

1. Open mask and template in PSP, with Shift D make a copy of the template, close the original, delete top layer (Credits) and highlight background layer

Image - Canvas Size - Height 600px/Width 600px - Placement Center

2. Add new raster layer, select all, open KISM-Sweet16-Paper8.jpg, copy, paste into selection, select none, layers - new masklayer - from image, load mask gemsmasks-116.jpg - Source luminance checked - Merge group, resize 95% (resize all layers not checked)

3. Open KISM-Sweet16-MusicNotes.png, resize 60%, copy and paste as new layer, move up to the left, duplicate layer, image mirror, image flip, merge down, add Dropshadow 2/2/35/2 #000000

4. Highlight Rectangle, select all, selection float, selection defloat, delete layer, open KISM-Sweet16-Paper7.jpg, copy and paste as new layer, move it a little to the right, so the selection is only covered with black, selection invert, press delete, open KISM-Sweet16-Paper2.jpg, copy and paste as new layer, press delete, selection invert, selection, modify, contract 5px, press delete, select none, add Dropshadow 2/-2/35/2 #000000 to silver frame

5. Highlight Purple Circle, select all, selection float, selection defloat, delete layer, copy KISM-Sweet16-Paper2.jpg, paste as new layer, selection invert, press delete, select none, add Dropshadow 0/0/50/2 #000000

6. Highlight Lrg White Circle, select all, selection float, selection defloat, delete layer, copy KISM-Sweet16-Paper8.jpg, paste as new layer, selection invert, press delete, select none

7. Open KISM-Sweet16-GlitterStrip.png, copy and paste as new layer, free rotate 90 degrees left, move it a little down, duplicate layer, Effects - Image Effects - Offset 100/100, merge down, add Dropshadow 2/2/35/2 #000000, highlight pink circle, with the magic wand tool click outside, highlight GlitterStrips again, press delete, select none, add Dropshadow 0/0/50/2 #000000 to pink circle

8. Highlight Green Circle, select all, selection float, selection defloat, delete layer, open KISM-Sweet16-Paper9.jpg, copy and paste as new layer, selection invert, press delete, select none, add Dropshadow

9. Highlight Sm White Circle, select all, selection float, selection defloat, delete layer, open KISM-Sweet16-Paper3.jpg, resize 600x600px, copy and paste as new layer, move it a little up, selection invert, press delete, open KISM-Sweet16-Paper2.jpg, copy and paste as new layer, press delete, select none, set blend mode of silver paper layer to hard light and opacity to 75, highlight lip paper layer, add Dropshadow 0/0/50/2 #000000

10. Highlight Star, select all, selection float, selection defloat, delete layer, copy KISM-Sweet16-Paper8.jpg, paste as new layer, selection invert, press delete, select none, Effects - dsb flux - Bright Noise, Intensity 40, Mix checked, add Dropshadow

11. Highlight Thin Rectangle, select all, selection float, selection defloat, delete layer, add new rasterlayer, open KISM-Sweet16-Paper3.jpg, set it to pattern (Angle 0/Scale 26), flood fill selection, select none, add Dropshadow

12. Highlight top layer, open KISM-Sweet16-DiscoBall.png, resize 35%, copy and paste as new layer, move up to the left, add Dropshadow 0/0/50/2 #000000, open KISM-Sweet16-Butterfly2.png, resize 55%, copy and paste as new layer, move up to the left, add Dropshadow 2/-2/35/2 #000000

13. Open KISM-Sweet16-Vest.png, resize 35%, copy and paste as new layer, free rotate 20 degrees left, move down to the left, add Dropshadow 2/2/35/2 #000000, open KISM-Sweet16-Bag.png, resize 50%, copy and paste as new layer, move down to the left and place it in front of the vest, add Dropshadow, open KISM-Sweet16-Shoes.png, resize 25%, copy and paste as new layer, move down to the left, add Dropshadow, open KISM-Sweet16-Tiara.png, resize 35%, copy and paste as new layer, free rotate 20 degrees right, Adjust - Sharpness - Sharpen, move down to the left and place it slightly in front of the bag, add Dropshadow, open KISM-Sweet16-Lollipop.png, resize 20%, copy and paste as new layer, free rotate 15 degrees right, move down to the left, too, add Dropshadow

14. Open KISM-Sweet16-Phone.png, resize 25%, copy and paste as new layer, free rotate 15 degrees right, move down to the right, add Dropshadow, open KISM-Sweet16-HandMirror.png, resize 25%, image mirror, copy and paste as new layer, move down to the right and place it on the left side of the phone, add Dropshadow, open KISM-Sweet16-Powder.png, resize 20%, copy and paste as new layer, move down to the right, place it on the right side of the phone, add Dropshadow

15. Open KISM-Sweet16-Dragonfly.png, resize 35%, copy and paste as new layer, move it up to the right, add Dropshadow

16. Highlight your DiscoBall layer, open your tube, copy and paste as new layer and place as you wish, maybe you have to remove some parts of it, add Dropshadow of your choice (I took 2/2/50/10 #000000)

Now you can write down your name and/or text, add copyright information and save your image as .jpg or .png! I really hope you enjoyed the tutorial, and I would love to see your results!

Tutorial "Angel's Wings"

You need: PTU Scrapkit "Looking Down" by Kirsty which you can purchase exclusively at TheScrappinDivazDesignz, a lovely tube - I used the beautiful artwork of Suzanne Woolcott which you can purchase here

1. Open a new canvas 700x550px, flood fill white, open KISM-LookingDown-Dust.png, copy and paste as new layer, image - resize - aspect ratio and resize all layer NOT checked, Width 140%/Height 110%

2. Open KISM-LookingDown-Frame-6.png, rotate right, copy and paste as new layer, add Dropshadow 0/0/30/3 #000000, with the magic wand tool (feather 0/tolerance 0) click into it, selection, modify, expand 5px, open KISM-LookingDown-Paper-4.jpg, copy and paste as new layer, selection invert, press delete, select none, layer - arrange - move down

3. Open KISM-LookingDown-Frame-4.png, resize 30% (aspect ratio checked), copy and paste as new layer, Effects - MuRa's Meister - Copies

Move it a little down, arrange this layer under the paper layer

4. Open KISM-LookingDown-Baubles.png, resize 50%, copy and paste as new layer, move down, add Dropshadow 0/0/30/3 #000000, arrange this under the paper layer

5. Highlight top layer, open KISM-LookingDown-Star-2.png, resize 75%, place it on the right side of the frame, add Dropshadow, duplicate layer, image mirror

6. Open KISM-LookingDown-Droplets.png, resize 65%, copy and paste as new layer, move it a little to the right, add Dropshadow

7. Open KISM-LookingDown-Cloud-1.png, copy and paste as new layer, move it down to the left, open KISM-LookingDown-Rainbow.png, resize 50%, copy and paste as new layer, just move it a little down and a very little to the right, arrange this layer under the KISM-LookingDown-Droplets.png layer

8. Open KISM-LookingDown-Ladder.png, resize 50%, copy and paste as new layer, move it to the left, add Dropshadow 0/0/30/3 #000000 and arrange this layer under the cloud layer

9. Open KISM-LookingDown-Moon.png, resize 40%, copy and paste as new layer, free rotate 20 degrees left and move it up on the top of the ladder, add Dropshadow

10. Open KISM-LookingDown-Teddy.png, resize 30%, copy and paste as new layer and move it up to the left, place it on the moon, add Dropshadow

11. Now open your tube, resize if needed, copy and paste as new layer, place it as you wish, add Dropshadow 0/0/40/20 #000000

12. Open KISM-LookingDown-Leaf-1.png, resize 55%, copy and paste as new layer, move it to the right so it looks like a wing to the tube, select all, selection float, selection defloat, selection, modify, contract 3px, Adjust - Hue/Saturation - Colorize - Hue 34/Saturation 220, select none, duplicate layer, image mirror, merge down, add Dropshadow 0/0/30/3 #000000, arrange this layer under your tube layer

13. I have added a nice background colour to the image now, I used #f1dfcb and added Effects - Texture - Texturizer - Sandstone Scaling 50/Relief 1
